Creative Writing

This course will introduce students to the process and techniques of creative writing. Students will work on creative writing fundamentals while developing their own creative voice. Students will also study classic novels to learn how to write like a writer. Under the guidance of the teacher, students work on different themes and stories. It is an effective way to cultivate their creativity, stimulate their imagination, broaden their thinking mode, and artistic expression. The course will also discuss students’ work in the form of workshops, share ideas, and get feedback from the teacher and classmates. Students will explore the different elements of creative writing such as:  story telling, character development, theme, and imaginative language.  They will learn to connect with their audience by producing writing that showcases their own inspirations.  At the end of the class, each student will “publish” his or her stories.
